Talking about wine comes naturally

Some background on how I became more SIP SAVVY
Growing up in White River, I never imagined that wine would become such a significant part of my life.
In fact, I had no knowledge of wine and didn't even drink it. My journey into the world of wine began in 2009 when I started working at Londolozi Game Reserve, a five-star lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

It was there that I developed a passion for wine and a thirst to learn more about this magical work of art created by winemakers and viticulturists. The more I learned, the more fascinated I became with the intricate process of winemaking and the stories behind each wine estate and bottle.

Driven by this newfound passion, I pursued formal studies in wine and proudly achieved my WSET Level 3 qualification in wines and spirits. This education provided me with a solid foundation and deep understanding of the complexities of wine. I have furthered my knowledge on South African wines by visiting the winelands at every opportunity that arose, getting stuck into the vineyards at harvest, exploring wine cellars and asking as much as I could to further enhance my knowledge.

Over the years, I gained extensive experience in designing wine lists, pairing wine with food, and hosting special wine experiences for clients.

Additionally, I found great joy in training and upskilling staff in wine service and knowledge, helping them appreciate the artistry behind each glass.

For me, wine is more than just another alcoholic product; it is an artwork created by nature with the assistance of the viticulturist and winemaker, showcasing the unique terroir provided. This belief inspired me to start Sip Savvy, a wine consultancy business dedicated to driving marketing and sales, assisting with wine events and promotions, providing waiter training, designing wine lists, and offering food and wine pairings. Sip Savvy also serves as an intermediary link, assisting with logistics from supplier to customer. My goal is to share my passion for wine and help others discover the beauty and complexity of this incredible beverage.
